Acrylic wild horse artwork by Kate Parkes. Exhibited in the Painting & Drawing category at the 2023 Seeing The Soul Art Prize and Exhibition in support of mental health. Kate entered this beautiful work in the exhibition and donated it to the sanctuary to raise funds to help support our equine therapy mental health outreach programs.

Name of Work: Wild Horses
Artist Statement: Wild Horses was inspired by the energy and freedom of Australian Brumbies. I wished to convey a strong sense of movement through a monochrome palette and textural applications with palette knife. I resisted the urge to create detail, instead focusing on capturing the vitality of wild horses.
