Girls’ Empowerment

Being a teenage girl has never been more complex. Supporting their mental health as they navigate this time is crucial. Expectations. Comparison. Friendships. Social media. Peer pressure. Bullying. Identity. These formative years bring new experiences, changing relationships and increasing expectations.

The Girls Empowerment Workshop gives girls the opportunity to step away from the noise, connect with themselves and build practical skills to navigate these important years with greater confidence. Through hands-on experiences with our horses, practical activities and age-appropriate wellbeing education, participants will explore self-awareness, emotional regulation and healthy boundaries in a supportive and engaging environment.

What will they learn?

During the workshop, girls will develop practical tools to:

  • Better understand themselves and their responses to stress
  • Recognise what happens in their body when they feel calm, activated or overwhelmed
  • Practise simple strategies to regulate stress and return to a calmer state
  • Build confidence and greater trust in themselves
  • Understand what healthy boundaries look and feel like
  • Recognise healthy and unhealthy relationship dynamics, including when teasing, pressure or exclusion crosses a line
  • Practise communicating and respecting boundaries (their own and others’)

Why horses?

Horses offer something a classroom can’t. Highly sensitive to body language, energy and the world around them, horses provide immediate and non-judgemental opportunities to explore concepts such as self-awareness, communication, trust and boundaries. Through carefully facilitated, ground-based activities, participants get to experience what they’re learning rather than simply talk about it.

No previous horse experience is required. All activities take place on the ground. There is no horse riding involved.

Designed for her age

The experiences of a girl in Year 7 can be very different from those of a girl in Year 10. That’s why each workshop is offered to one year level at a time, allowing discussions, examples and activities to be adapted to the girls’ developmental stage.

2026 workshop dates

  • Year 7: Saturday 24 October
  • Year 8: Saturday 14 November
  • Year 9: Saturday 21 November
  • Year 10: Saturday 28 November

Following the workshop, participants are invited to stay for an additional 30 minutes of relaxed connection and celebration with light refreshments, time with the horses and an opportunity to connect with the other participants.

More than a morning with horses

Adolescence is a time of enormous growth. The Girls Empowerment Workshop gives young women an opportunity to build skills that can support them through friendships, relationships, school pressures and the growing independence that comes with getting older.

Your daughter will leave with practical tools to navigate friendships and everyday pressures, manage stress, communicate her boundaries and trust herself with greater confidence.

Places are intentionally limited to 10 participants per workshop to keep the experience personal, safe and engaging. Bookings are essential.
