General donations are vital to the day-to-day running of the Sanctuary. They let us allocate funds where they are needed most.

We believe that financial disadvantage should never be a barrier to accessing mental health support.

Every program at Hoofbeats Sanctuary is provided free of charge for those who need it to be – but we have to do an extraordinary amount of work to raise the funds needed to be able to do that.

We currently receive no ongoing government support for our work. We survive on donations from the public and grants largely made by other charitable foundations. We are busy campaigning to try and change that status quo – and every dollar we raise gets us one step closer to a world where we are able to help everyone who needs it.

The current pressure on organisations like ours, and on people struggling with their mental health, is huge. Nobody should have to choose between accessing mental health support and putting food on the table. Your support WILL make a huge difference.

To get an idea for our average costs breakdown, for every $10 we spent in the last financial year, $5 went towards delivering our mental health programs, $3.10 was spent on horse care costs, 85c we spent fundraising, 27c paid for our insurances, and the remaining 78 cents was set aside for other bills.

Making a donation with us means you’ll receive an invite to our of our exclusive Gratitude Days. We aim to hold these on site at the Sanctuary every quarter. It’s a way for us to say thanks to the people who have helped us over the prior few months, and it lets you get an up-close look at the Sanctuary that we don’t normally make available.

If you would like your donation to be routed towards a particular cause, you also have the option of funding a scholarship, allowing our clients to access more services for free, or sponsoring one of our horses, helping to cover their care costs while receiving some great perks in return.

And because we are a registered Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) in Australia, every donation made with us $2 and over is tax deductible.

There are so many costs to juggle every month and your contribution means the world to us.
