Julia Wheeler has entered this work into the 2024 edition of our Seeing the Soul Art Prize and Exhibition and has donated it to the Sanctuary for us to raise funds and help support our mental health programs.

Artist statement: Seeing the soul – that deep, all-encompassing feeling of mutual unspoken connection between kindred spirits. No purer emotion to heal the heart and soul. This painting is, to me, how that love feels – skin on fur, eyes closed, inhaling the safety and comfort of a pure soul. The green of the background signifies the nurturing and regrowth of nature, the renewal of energies and the healing of emotions. The blue of her jacket signifies inner peace, serenity and spiritual development. White – the beautiful horse – the purity of an animal’s soul. This is why the work at Hoofbeats is so very important – healing connections are forged and lives are enriched with love and hope.

Freight/Delivery: This item will remain at the Cooroy Butter Factory for the duration of the exhibition. We will contact you when the exhibition has finished to arrange collection.
